Norsk Pyreneerhundklubb is the national club in Norway for Long-Haired Pyrenean Sheepdog (Chien de Berger des Pyrenees a Poil Long), Pyrenean Sheepdog Smooth-Faced (Chien de Berger des Pyrenees a Face Rase) and Pyrenean Mountain Dog (Chien de Montagne des Pyrenees).
The club was founded in 1991, and can thus celebrate 35 years this year. However, our official specialty show will in 2026 be held for the 40th time, as Pyrenean Mountain Dog previously were a part of Klubben for Større Selskapshundraser (today called Klubben for Gårds- og Fjellhunder). Thus 2026 also marks the 50th anniversary for the PMD being organized in official club(s).

Specialty show
Our specialty show in 2026 will be held on June 27th and June 28. Judges are on Saturday Jean-Bernard Moings, France and on Sunday Sølvi Schjelderup, Norway. The show is held centrally in Norway, just an hour from Oslo - in Hokksund. Don't hesitate to contact us if you should have questions about the specialty show or face difficulties with entering.
Most exhibitors stay the entire weekend in rented cabins on the show ground Hokksund camping, and we invite you all to take part in the social dinner on Saturday evening. We also have the traditional lottery with loads of prizes, and during the dinner all the rosettes for the most winning dogs working and showing in the previous year are handed out.
Foreign-owned dogs will be able to become a Norwegian champion by winning the CAC on Saturday. If a foreign-owned dog is not yet a champion, but wins the CAC on Saturday, that CAC will earn the dog the Norwegian title as soon as the dog becomes champion in another country. Alternatively, if your dog isn't a champion, you can become a Norwegian champion by winning the CACs on both Saturday, Sunday and any third show in Norway. Please consult the Norwegian Kennel Club and the show regulations for more detailed information.
There is only once CAC per gender, and you can win it from any class entered.
All entered dogs will receive a participation prize, and all dogs placed in their class will also win a prize. Our goal is to organize a social and including weekend, with lots of prizes and ribbons to as many dogs as possible, lots of smiles and laughter, a friendly atmosphere, and our lovely breeds in focus.
